Personal Growth Weekly #17
Hey, it’s Michael from michaelrauscher.com,
I hope you’re doing great! Let me add some value to your life this week:
Growth is hard. It can be so frightening because it requires us to be honest with ourselves. It requires us to deal with emotions we’d love to lock away for just another day. It requires us to push ourselves into uncertainty where we can only guess our next step. It demands from us to put effort into the things we want to build even though we lack energy after a debilitating day. In my latest story 4 Fundamental Life Skills That Boost Your Own Growth, I wrote about the specific habits that might indicate you’re leveling up way more often than you realize. Hope you’ll give it a read!
Each day we make countless decisions — most of them unconsciously. We choose between healthy and unhealthy food every time we grab a snack or a meal. We decide to work out or relax another evening on the couch. We make time to work on our heart project or hobby or procrastinate and wait for inspiration. We try to understand what our emotions are trying to tell us or ignore them away just another day.
The more we understand that our decisions lead us to our here and now, the more we will understand the following truth:
Whatever is important to us, we need to nurture with countless decisions dedicated to it.
My favorite quote dedicated to making high-quality decisions is from Cicero:
“More is lost by indecision than wrong decision. Indecision is the thief of opportunity.” — Marcus Tullius Cicero
